 I think a good rule of thumb for TV writing is 'if your actors feel dumb saying it, you probably need to rewrite it', because shows are really way too prone to depicting the 'uncivilized barbarian' every time a post apocalyptic culture rolls around, and honestly they would probably just speak English or else something completely unrecognizable, rather than creating the new language of 'English but badly'.

 I'm reading the In Death series (J.D. Robb) and this looks like it's gonna be my new thing for a while - I'm liking the highly realistic depiction of the collapse of society under late capitalism, but I'm not sure if it's intended to be seen as a good thing??
